Corporate Legal
A secure platform for managing outside counsel.
Just as law firms may invite clients to access and collaborate on documents using their extranet, in-house counsel can use Collaborator™ to provide a structured and secure platform for managing information from - and the efforts of - outside counsel. Collaborator™ allows corporate counsel to bring a level of consistency and uniformity to collaborative efforts with outside counsel with no technology "work-arounds" to accommodate any proprietary systems the firms might be using.
Less Re-inventing the Wheel, More Savings
Our corporate legal department clients have found that asking their firms to use Collaborator™ has resulted in cost savings on several levels:
- Firms are less inclined to duplicate their efforts (or the efforts of other firms the corporation might retain), as their past work product on a given matter - and the work product of other outside counsel - are all readily accessible
- In-house counsel are in a position to better manage the efforts of their law firms, as Collaborator™ can serve as a dashboard to follow projects - and a blueprint to initiate best practices among outside counsel, and ensure that guidelines are followed
- Collaborator™ increases the collective strength of the entire legal team, leading to better service
Easy To Configure, Easy to Administer
- Creation of new extranets is instantaneous! Attorneys/legal assistants can create new extranets for new firms or new matters as needed, with little IT assistance.
- Each extranet created can be branded with your corporation's logo to enhance branding.
- Day to day administration can be delegated/distributed to appropriate end users; the extranet requires little IT resources.
- Collaborator™ can be an ASP-delivered solution and requires NO infrastructure. All that is needed to use Collaborator™ is a web browser and Internet connection.
Full Integration with Leading DMS, Including Synchronization and Replication
- Collaborator™ recognizes updates in a given document when changes are made in the document management system, eliminating version control issues.
- System Security and user permissions are granular, permitting your firm to specify access rights down to the item level within an extranet.
- Users can be alerted via email each time a document or item is accessed or updated, so the collaborative process can be monitored. These email notifications can be instantaneous or in the form of a daily digest.
- Also integrates with Microsoft™ Outlook.
